Firmware Release Notes

As new firmware is released to the public for Flyer, this is where we will keep track of the detailed Flyer firmware release notes:

1.1.9 – September 5, 2012:

  • IEEE-488 protocol fixes
  • Catalog Fix For PET

Firmware version 1.1.9 is an interim release containing some soon-to-be-announced features which are still in development.

1.1.8 – Thursday May 17, 2012:

  • REL File Support
  • D64 Error Block Support
  • IEEE-488 Protocol Fix
  • Minor Bug Fixes

1.1.7 – Sunday March 11, 2012:

  • Directory formatting fixes
  • NET-AVAIL command fix: Now includes IEC cached byte in count (if any)
  • TCP channels now send packets on EOI (was per byte)
  • New NET-STAT command: Returns bytes available and connection status
  • New status: Firmware command – returns current firmware version
  • Added additional TCP error handling

1.1.6 – Friday February 10, 2012:

  • DHCP exposed via new config program
  • Relaxed file name parsing rules
  • Port settings for clouds
  • Bug fixes

To access the Flyer configuration program type LOAD “1:CONFIG”,8 (or whatever your device number is set to) on your Commodore computer, then RUN it once loaded.

1.1.5 – Tuesday January 10, 2012:

  • JiffyDOS support
  • Display scrolling for disk and cloud names
  • NET-AVAIL now works with HTTP channels
  • Disk directory padding fixes
  • Relaxed some DOS checks (fixed CBM CMDR compatibly issues)
  • DOS CMD status now shows Flyer IDENT on startup and INIT

1.1.4 – Thursday December 15, 2011:

  • Secondary drive wildcards
  • D80/D82 support added
  • EasyProg timing fix
  • Bug fixes

D80′s are 8050 disks (single-sided) and D82′s are 8250 disks (double-sided). D82′s are also like SFD 1001 disks.

1.1.3 – Friday December 03, 2011:

  • 30% faster net transfers
  • New disk manager utility

To access the disk manager program type LOAD “1:DISKMGR”,8 (or whatever your device number is set to) on your Commodore computer, then RUN it once loaded.

1.1.2 – Monday November 18, 2011:

  • Disk Image Fixes
  • Re-enabled DOS copy, rename
  • DHCP support (beta)
